NCPD det on scene with accident investigation. eye wittness said they say baby going to bus less an arm, smaller car was going east bound and turned into jeep going eastbound. as per NCPD all removed to local hospitals. unknown if fatality. accident investigation in progress
Police responded at 6:10pm to a head on collision involving 3 vehicles on Old Country Road and Laurel Street in Garden City, a Jeep, an SUV and a white compact model Nissan. The injured were taken to local hospitals via ambulance. There is an active accident investigation with Nassau County detectives on the scene.

According to eyewitness accounts the small car was travelling eastbound on Old Country Rd and was attempting to make a turn but swerved into oncoming westbound traffic hitting the jeep head on, 3rd vehicle rear ended the Jeep.
An eyewitness stated the woman driver of the car suffered severe facial injuries. Eyewitnesses also claimed there was a child who lost an arm in the accident and referred to the child as a baby.
