The BNN network reports a man trying to cross the LIE just west of Exit 40 east bound, was struck and killed by a FEDEX truck. All east bound traffic has been sent to the south service road. No further information at this time. As per the Nassau County Police Dept, the event took place at 2:45 PM yesterday. The operator of the FEDEX truck was a 28 year old male. The victim has been identified as Bryan Mejia, 33 years old , from Bethpage.
