Today was one of those happy assignments that dont happen too often. Louse Kobs, of Levittown, NY , retired as a Nassau County School Crossing Guard after 41 years on the job. In attendance was Nassau County Exec Bruce Blakeman, NCPD Comm Pat Ryder, TOH Town Clerk, Kate Murray and many friends and former students she help to cross the intersection of Orchid Road and Violet Lane in Levittown ,NY. over the years.
Louise started her job on Nov 4, 1981, and never missed a day of work since then. Louise was awarded a award from Bruce Blakeman, and this date is being set aside in her name going forward in Nassau County. In addition in the NCPD Training Center, a replica of a Crossing Guard , will be named after her.
