Early this morning, a oil tractor trailer, headed east on Sunrise Highway with 11,000 gals of heating oil just escaped a huge accident after the driver hit a parked, empty car carrier just east of Merrick Road in Merrick. No injuries, no buildings struck. Product was off loaded, and both the tractor and trailer were towed away safely.
