Pitching, hitting and defense all go south for the Yankees in a sloppy loss tonight, by Neil Miller The New York Extra/TheNYExtra.com
You know it was going to be a Mets night when Jonathan Villar escaped a tag by Gary Sanchez in the 1st inning to score. Villar was called out, but the was reversed after a challenge. But it was the 3rd inning that sunk the Yanks tonight. Jordon Montgomery couldn’t get any one out in the 3rd, and after loading the bases, Alonso’s walk scored Villar and then an error by Urshela, a bases loaded bunt by Mc Neil , a sac fly by Pillar and then a rbi double by Mc Cann, the Yanks night was over.
The Mets added runs by a homer by Lindor and a rbi double by Baez later in the game, and Tyler Megill had a very good game going 7 innings, giving up 4 hits, 2 runs, 1 base on balls, and a career high 10 strike outs.
