A serious accident took place today in Commack as a tractor trailer struck a car leaving the driver of the car seriously injured and requiring a medavac to a hospital .Suffolk County police report the accident took place at appox 335pm as the car was headed west bound on Jericho Turnpike , collided with the tractor trailer making a left turn from Jericho Turnpike on to Indian Head Road. The injured driver of the car, an unidentified woman, was hurt with non-life threatening injuries.
