Bruce Blakeman held yet another presser today concerning the continued pushback of Hofstra to the proposed Sands casino project. Citing texts made by Dr Poser, President of Hofstra ,which implicated Mets owner Steve Cohen, Blakeman called for a full disclosure of Hofstra’s position to the Nassau County politicians which Poser has resisted. You have to wonder if the NIMBY factor is the whole story .Perhaps there are other forces behind the scene at Hofstra compelling Dr. Poser and her board to take this stance.
Without a doubt, the creation of the casino would bring many jobs to the area, and a brand tourist attraction to the County, that would help support the tax base. The back door efforts of Hofstra to create a Ctifield site instead at the Coliseum requires inspection. Which begs the question again,,,,,,What is Dr. Poser hiding from the people of Nassau County?
