Met Owner Steve Cohen Rightfully Deletes His Twitter Account By Rich Coutinho Met Beat Reporter @ NY Extra.com

Met owner Steve Cohen deleted his Twitter account because he was getting tons of hate tweets and personal attacks and The Met owner did the right thing.

He explained his departure with the following official statement:

“I’ve really enjoyed the back and forth with Mets fans on Twitter which was unfortunately overtaken this week by misinformation unrelated to the Mets that led to our family getting personal threats,” Cohen said in the statement. “So I’m going to take a break for now. We have other ways to listen to your suggestions and remain committed to doing that. I love our team, this community, and our fans, who are the best in baseball. Bottom line is that this week’s events in no way affect our resources and drive to put a championship team on the field. #LGM”

I honestly am so sorry for the Met owner as nobody deserves to get treated that way. I have often called Twitter “The bathroom wall of America” and it illustrates that notion in this case.

Hate has no boundaries on Twitter and personally aside from sending out my written content I have have deleted my tweets in recent months because all that hatred seaps into yourself if you read too much of it. When my dad passed away 99% of the mentions I got on Twitter were so helpful and I loved the people for sending messages my way but that 1% that sent disparaging messages stuck in my soul depressing me and making me feel alone on an island.

Being afflicted with those types of feelings can only leave you with a bad attitude and only looking for retribution which makes you a bitter and angry person. And much like having a flat tire you will never get to your destination with a bad attitude until that tire is changed to a brand new tire which we allow you to drive on the path of life.

Steve Cohen decided enough is enough and I credit him for doing what he did. His detractors will still pick on him but he will not have to see it.

I learned a long time ago you will not stop haters but not being around them brings you closer to God and further away from the satanic-like population which can only bring you closer to a fiery afterworld so to speak.

Eventually the haters will be called out in this world or the next. Or they will run out of ammunition. Either way not being exposed to them will make you start each day with a smile and not a frown. And concentrate on helping others instead of attacking haters who attack you.

Steve Cohen will find out he took that first step today that will allow him to focus on both his family and his desire to one day travel up Canyons Of Heroes as a baseball owner. My sense is he will accomplish both of those things.
